Putting 2 and 2 Together
Many, many, many years ago, during my college years (circa 1992-1996), I wrote a short little script titled "Artificial Intelligence". I posted that script on this site today, just for this entry. The script revolves around two aliens building an advanced artificial intelligence (AI). The twist in the script involves two organic AI's.
Today, I read a National Geographic news article titled, "Computer Made from DNA and Enzymes". This article indicates that scientists have created a computer based on DNA that is a hundred thousand times faster than today's fastest personal computers. This DNA computer could store data and perform mathematical operations on the data just like today's computer. For those of you that are not computer scientists (I have a B.S. CS), everything you do on a computer involves mathematical operations; even if you are just typing a sentence in Microsoft Word. So one day, you may actually type a letter on an organic computer.
Based on this news article, but to be coy in order to preserve the surprise in my "Artificial Intelligence" script, the scenario presented in the script could be closer to reality than I thought.
